SUZUKI UNVEILS NEW GIXXER SF 250 IN INDIA
Team Suzuki Press Office – October 5.
Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd. unveiled the new Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP edition to media at the third round of the Gixxer Cup Championship at Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore.
The new machine features a dynamic 250cc engine with state-of-the-Art SOCS specially developed to cater the riding needs of Indian motorcycle enthusiasts.
Oil cooling system in engines was first introduced by Suzuki to the world for creating lightweight and fast engines, which provides high performance for a wide range of needs, from city riding in traffic to serious sport riding.
The newly-developed engine boasts various technologies derived from MotoGP for weight-reduction and friction-reduction offering a refined acceleration that feels strong and linear.
The Gixxer SF 250 engine provides high output, compactness, low fuel consumption, high durability and ease of maintenance. As a pioneer of Oil Cooling Technology used in Suzuki big bikes, SMIPL introduced this advanced cooling technology for the first time in India.
SOCS eliminates the need of cooling devices such as water pump or cooling fin, which not only makes the bike lighter and compact but also reduces the maintenance cost for user by avoiding need of additional liquid coolant to cool the motorcycle.
There are separate oil cooling flow lines added, so that engine can be cooled more quickly over wider range of area.
The hot oil goes through the oil cooler and then via the oil cooling channel before it goes to the oil pan, from the oil pan the pump channels the cooled oil through a filter to different parts of engine such as piston jet, crank, cam and transmission.
This is a continuous process in which lubrication flow lines are kept separate from cooling flow lines which results in high cooling efficiency.
Advantages of Oil Cooling System
:
• Lighter and Faster engine.
• Oil cooling system eliminates some cooling devices compared to liquid cooling such as Water pump or cooling fins which makes bike lighter and faster.
• Stable engine temperature improves durability of the engine.
• Oil cooling technology results in low maintenance.
